in the distance, the stars burn so bright
in their brilliance they're just out of reach
bathing me in the warmth of their hollow light
its so cold, the lessons life loves to teach

you are what my hands cannot hold
burning my heart through my eyes
the echo of screams is getting old
only the distant stars hear my cries
